Hey Aretas Performance Community,
As we’ve entered the new year, and many of us are planning for next summer and everything this year will entail for us and our families, I wanted to take a moment to pull back the curtain on how we actually program for our athletes (whether you’re 8 years old, or 80).
When you walk into an Aretas facility, you aren't just there to "get a workout in." You are there to participate in a system. Whether we are working with a middle school volleyball player or a tactical professional, every program we write is built on the Aretas 6 Pillars of Performance. These aren't just buzzwords; they are the filters we use to ensure that the work you do with us translates into real-world capability.

The 6 Pillars of Aretas Performance
Defining our 6 Pillars, and what they mean for you (or your kids):
MOVEMENT: Mechanical integrity. Whether it’s an explosive sprint or simply maintaining your mobility and independence as you age, we focus on the biomechanics that allow you to move with precision, stability, and zero "energy leaks."
STRENGTH & POWER: Building the engine. We prioritize relative strength—your ability to move and control your own body mass—to ensure you remain as capable as you are mobile.
FUEL: Strategic refueling. We view food as the direct catalyst for performance and longevity. We move away from "skinny culture" and toward metabolic health.
REST & RECOVERY: Your ceiling. You don’t get stronger in the gym; you get stronger while you sleep. We coach the habits that allow your central nervous system to repair and recharge.
MINDSET: Resilience by design. We replace "willpower" with intentional habits. We train the mental discipline to treat your body like the high-performance vehicle it is.
COMMUNITY: The high-standards collective. Performance is contagious. We build an environment where everyone is held to the same Aretas standard of excellence.
The Lab Philosophy: Integrated Performance The reason we call our summer programs "Labs" is that performance isn't a straight line. It’s an integration of these pillars. You can't maximize Movement (Speed or Mobility) if you haven't established the Fuel to support it. You can’t maximize Strength if your Rest is an afterthought.
A "Lab" is where we take a surgical approach to shoring up these pillars.
The Fueling Lab (For Adults): Since last summer, we’ve been helping you refine your nutrition. We’ve now evolved this into a tiered "Lab" approach (Baseline, Audit, and Metabolic) to give you the data and accountability you need to own your metabolic health and long-term energy.

Summer Lab Enrollment is Live for our Athletic Labs!
We’re excited to have structured our summer offerings for middle school - high school athletes into specialized environments:
Summer Speed & Velocity Lab (at STiKS)
Lab 1: June 15 - July 17; Lab 2: July 20 - August 21
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
8:00am: Ages 8-13
9:00am: Ages 14+
Verified Game Speed Starts Here
Stop guessing and start verifying. Use OVR Timing Technology to build the 10-yard burst that takes you to the next level.
Summer Vertical Jump Labs (at Wauwatosa)
Girls Summer Vertical Jump Lab
July 20 - August 14; Mondays & Thursdays at 10:00am
Recalibrate Your Power. Protect Your Season.
Verticality gets you the scholarship; landing stability keeps you on the court. We specialize in explosive power recalibration and injury prevention tailored specifically to the female athlete.
Boys Summer Vertical Jump Lab
July 20 - August 14; Tuesdays & Fridays at 10:00am
Master the Physics of Flight.
We help athletes navigate the physical changes of growth and development by integrating leverage physics with explosive power. Build the skills to optimize force production for maximum hang-time.
Longsnapping Power Lab (at Hales Corners)
June 22 - August 1; Wednesdays & Fridays at 5:30pm
Eliminate Energy Leaks. Maximize Snap Velocity.
Games are won on the margins. This Lab is a deep-dive into the leverage physics and explosive power required for elite specialists. We focus on the biomechanics that turn “good" snappers into D1 prospects.
Reminder: Early Bird registration (10-50% off) for Summer Labs ends March 1st. Email Laura ([email protected]) with any questions!
The Aretas Challenge: The Pillar Audit This weekend, look at those 6 Pillars and ask yourself: Which one am I ignoring? Most high-performers are great at the "loud" pillars like Strength, but struggle with the "quiet" ones like Fuel or Rest. Your performance—and your longevity—is only as high as your lowest pillar. Pick your weakest one and make it your non-negotiable for the next 48 hours.
In Excellence,
Aretas Performance
